Enter AI - A series of Entryway Objects
This was a self-initiated project intended to challenge myself within a short timeframe to put together a compelling product series that ties consumer trends, basic functionality principles, time management, as well as market and production feasibility.
All of these are then woven together with a resonant aesthetic direction and narrative.

AI focus - Security
Contextual - How can AI be practically experienced the moment one is home?
A simple fingerprint identification system is used as the primary security module. AI comes into play by analysing usage patterns such as time of day, hand gestures when opening the door etc. to notify unusual usage to registered users whilst being smart enough to filter out false alarms.
It can also offer additional convenience and security to users when it senses registered devices nearby with no unfamiliar devices, automatically unlocking the door to these registered users. It can also potentially identify publicly assigned emergency services and unlock the door to these first responders.
Lastly, it could be integrated with home security systems to further improve the identification process while assessing potential threats, controlling these security systems independently to monitor the situation whilst notifying registered users.
Hidden SOS button users can easily reach should they be forced to unlock their doors during threatening situations like break-in attempts etc. AI can analyse the users' pulse rate to ensure that it is not a false alarm.
Should there be a situation where the handle is inoperative, a manual key can still be used.

AI focus - Tactile Intuitiveness
Behavioural - Can AI nudge a physical, tactile response?
The tray is in actuality, an AI-powered switch. As everyday items are placed on the tray, their weight automatically switches on the main switch, akin to hotel card switches. As this is an entryway tray meant to be placed right beside the door, it acts as a subtle nudge for users to remember to take their belongings before leaving the house.
AI comes into play by identifying if anyone else whose belongings may not be placed on the tray is still within the house, toggling the on/off depending on the identified context.

AI focus - Sanitation
Experiential - What if AI can enable a fresh entry and exit experience?
The bench utilises AI to identify and target the various smells and odours from your shoes that might result from a day of walking around town or a trek in the park. The specific odour compounds are countered with the relevant anti-odour formula, UV sterilisation, or heater to ensure that shoes are always fresh.
Easy refill process, just unlock and replace, providing a consistent revenue stream for the company.
